- There are some things that you should avoid using your garbage disposal for: liquid grease (pour this into your trash can or use paper towels to wipe it up), carrots, celery and any other difficult-to-grind food debris.
- If your garbage disposal is making a humming noise but isn’t working, try resetting it. First, turn the switch off, then press the small reset button on the disposer (this can usually be found near the bottom).
