We recently contacted Clarke & Rush to get a second opinion about what was causing our AC to short-cycle. The first HVAC contractor we contacted had diagnosed the problem as a bad thermal-expansion valve, and gave us an expensive estimate for its replacement without providing us with an inspection report. Ray from Clarke & Rush, a Senior Service Technician, spent hours inspecting our heat pump system, and even called several of his colleagues to solicit their opinions about what could causing the short cycling. Ray decided that the problem probably wasn't with a faulty valve, and that it might be due instead to a low refrigerant level. He told us to wait for a hot day to see if the short-cycling continued, and if it did, to call the Clarke & Rush office so they could send a technician to measure refrigerant levels. There would be no charge for the second visit.
Ray provided a detailed report summarizing his inspection. His thoroughness may have saved us thousand of dollars in unneeded repairs. We had not used Clarke & Rush before as our HVAC contractor, but because of our experience with Ray, we're only going to use Clarke & Rush going forward.

Update: In the summer of 2025 we contracted with Clarke & Rush to replace our aging heat pump system. The installation crew did a great job, and the new AC worked well for the duration of the summer.  Unfortunately, when we switched the system to heat in November, the heat pump completely shut down after a few days, and we couldn't get it to work again.  We contacted Clarke & Rush and they quickly sent two technicians to assess the problem.  We wanted to especially recognize the work of Zach, who was assigned to our service call when there were some complications with the repair.  Zach quickly identified the problem and repaired it, all in less than one hour, and the work was covered under the system warranty.  He clearly and succinctly described the problem and how he repaired it.  Thanks to Zach, we now have heat again!

Professional scheduling and billing, heads-up calls before arrival, and competent, professional technicians combine to make Clarke & Rush my go-to for HVAC service. During peak seasons, quick appointments can be hard to get but they've worked hard to fit appointments to my busy travel schedule. I haven't searched extensively for alternative options, but pricing seems reasonable and honest (e.g. they quoted a certain amount of refrigerant, but the repair used less than expected and thus they billed less than the estimate -- something I would never have known had they not been so honest about it).

I have used Clark and Rush in the past to install HVAC system which is very quiet , efficient and was very well priced.
there I did not hesitate to ask Clark and Rush to install my water heater with pump. everything went very smooth. Brandon, the installer was very professional and efficient. the Job site was left very clean  and the water heater with pump is working very well and is energy efficient.

MY tech Jak came two weeks ago to perform one of my bi-annual maintenance checks.  He found that my relay that powers heat strips was not working.  .today he returned  and fixed the problem. With out of state visitors arriving for a week, our water heater kinda semi-exploded on a Sunday.  I called early Monday morning and Brandon appeared only an hour later to confirm my diagnosis.  Early the next morning he returned and five minutes before we had to leave for the airport (to pick our visitors) he was done and we had our new water heater!!!  Wow!!!  Thank you Brandon!!!!  😄.

I very rarely post reviews but find myself wanting to do it every time we have Clarke & Rush for sales , install or maintenance. This review is long overdue.

We are always extremely impressed with each and every Clarke & Rush team member. Time after time we can’t believe how professional, personable and knowledgeable they are.

From Joseph for yearly HVAC maintenance to Dan and Colby for many different window needs, we are thankful to have a team of professionals that can help us maintain our home. We trust them and feel confident in the work they do for us.

Extra shout out to Dan for his commitment to helping us address  leaking window issues (20 year old windows, not installed by Clarke & Rush.) Dan has been here numerous times to troubleshoot various issues and make repairs as needed. We feel very fortunate to have Dan by our side. He is always friendly, patient, thorough and professional.
